Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: October 22, 2025

Welcome to Firefly Pilates Studio ("Studio," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our services, including group classes and introductory classes offered at 1872 Buenaventura Blvd Ste 2, Redding, CA 96001. By booking, attending, or participating in any class or service ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not participate.

These Terms comply with applicable California laws, including the California Health Studio Services Contract Law (Civil Code §§ 1812.80–1812.97), which requires written contracts, provision of signed copies to patrons, and specific cancellation rights. Waivers of rights under this law are void. Consult a physician before participating, especially if you have pre-existing conditions.

Services Offered

We provide group Pilates classes and introductory classes designed for various skill levels. All classes emphasize safety, inclusivity, and progressive instruction. Services are conducted in-person at our Redding location; online classes are not currently offered.

Booking and Attendance Rules

Advance Booking Required: You must book classes at least 2 hours in advance via our online Vagaro platform to secure your spot.

Class Capacity: Classes are limited to ensure quality instruction. Late arrivals (more than 5 minutes) may be denied entry for safety reasons and forfeit the booking.

Waitlist: If a class is full, you may join the waitlist through Vagaro. You are responsible for managing your bookings and cancellations. The system automatically adds waitlisted participants up to 8 hours before class when spots open. Monitor your account for updates.

Attendance: Arrive prepared and on time. We reserve the right to refuse entry for non-compliance with safety requirements.

Payment Policies

All payments, memberships, and packages are processed and managed securely via our Vagaro platform. View full details, including pricing and options here.

General Payment: Full payment is required at booking. We accept major credit cards via Vagaro.

Refunds: Refunds are not issued for unused classes except as required by law (e.g., within the 5-day cancellation period under California Health Studio Services Contract Law for initial contracts). Contact us for eligibility.

Cancellation and No-Show Policies

Cancellations: You may cancel without fee up to 8 hours before class start time via your Vagaro account. Cancellations within 8 hours incur a $20 late cancellation fee, charged to your card on file. Cancellations via social media, voicemail, text, or other methods are not accepted—use Vagaro only.

No-Shows: Failure to cancel and attend results in a $30 no-show penalty fee, charged to your card. The class credit (if applicable) returns to your account but does not roll over at month-end if unused. If no valid card is on file, the class may be forfeited.

Legal Cancellations: For memberships or packages, California law allows cancellation within 5 days of signing for a full refund (minus any used services). Month-to-month options may have additional terms; see Vagaro for details.

Memberships and Packages

All memberships (e.g., monthly unlimited) and packages (e.g., flex passes, intro offers) are detailed and managed via Vagaro. Key features include:

  • Recurring bookings for monthly members.

  • Flex passes require manual booking per class.

  • Expiration: Unused credits expire at month-end for non-rollover plans. We provide a copy of your signed contract via Vagaro upon purchase, as required by California law.

Health and Safety Requirements

Your health and safety are our priority. Participation assumes you are in good health.

Grip Socks: Required for all classes to prevent slipping. New intro offer participants receive a free pair at their first class.

Waivers: A signed waiver is mandatory before attending any class. Waivers are managed via Vagaro and prompted during booking. By signing, you acknowledge risks of exercise and agree to our Liability Release (Section 7).

General Guidelines: Inform instructors of injuries or conditions. We follow CDC and local health guidelines; masks or modifications may be required during outbreaks.

Compliance: Non-compliance may result in removal from class without refund.

Liability Waiver and Release

IMPORTANT: READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING. This release applies under California law, where waivers are enforceable for ordinary negligence but not gross negligence, willful misconduct, or violations of health/safety statutes (Civil Code § 1668).

In consideration of participating in Services, you (on behalf of yourself, heirs, executors, and assigns) hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Firefly Pilates Studio, its owners, instructors, employees, agents ("Released Parties"), from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death sustained during or resulting from participation, whether due to ordinary negligence or other acts/omissions.

You acknowledge:

  • Inherent risks of Pilates, including but not limited to muscle strains, falls, or aggravation of pre-existing conditions.

  • Your voluntary participation and assumption of all risks.

  • Released Parties' lack of responsibility for your personal property (lost, stolen, or damaged).

  • No protection from gross negligence or intentional harm.

This waiver is binding and governed by California law. It does not cover violations of statutory duties (e.g., health codes). By signing the Vagaro waiver, you confirm understanding and agreement. Minors under 18 are not permitted (see Section 8).

Age and Participation Restrictions

Minimum Age: Participants must be at least 18 years old. No minors allowed, even with guardians.

Eligibility: Services are for fit individuals; those with medical conditions must provide physician clearance. We reserve the right to refuse participation for safety.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict principles. Venue for disputes: Shasta County Superior Court, Redding, CA. For claims under $10,000, small claims court applies.

Local Requirements: As a City of Redding business, we comply with municipal business licensing (City Clerk, 777 Cypress Ave, Redding, CA 96001) and Shasta County regulations (e.g., Environmental Health for sanitation). No specific fitness waivers beyond state law apply locally; contact Shasta County Resource Management (530-225-5789) for zoning/building queries.

We may update these Terms; continued participation constitutes acceptance. Check our website for the latest version.
